Gifts That Go Well Together

How Your Gift Helps

Many poor families are not able to pay school fees, which means their children aren’t able to go to school. Girls are married off at a young age to alleviate the financial strain on their families.

But when a child is able to go to school, they are empowered to continue learning and growing in their studies. Many become passionate about learning, continuing on to higher education or teaching the younger students in their villages.

Just by going to school these children have an opportunity to complete their education, rise above poverty, and make a difference in their own communities.

Fulmala's Story

In places like Bangladesh, families living in poverty can’t afford to send their children to school and view marriage as an opportunity to lessen their burden.

Girls as young as 10 or 12 years old, like Fulmala, live in fear of being married off in childhood. Your gift of a year of education, however, means a different future for Fulmala!

Fulmala told us, "I don’t want to get married because I want to study and have a higher education.”

Girls in rural communities who are able to complete their education are not only empowered, but are more equipped to help their families – and they’re six times less likely to be married before the age of 18.

Your gift of education will help protect a young boy or girl like Fulmala!
